Tuk Pikuni (Tree People) calling for immediate vigil for Oscar Grant during Mehserle Trial

On Monday Nov. 21st former Bart police officer Johannes Mehserle (the first on-duty officer in the history of the USA to be tried and convicted of manslaughter) along with fellow Bart Pigs went on trial for excessive force. Mehserle is the pig who murdered Oscar Grant and is the officer who allegedly began the assault on Kenneth Carrethers, the plaintiff in the current trial. In response to this, Tuk Pikuni , Running Wolf and Anonymous are calling for an immediate tent vigil for Oscar starting on the sidewalk under the current tree-sit - in downtown Oakland. Then ultimately retaking Oscar Grant Plaza legally, based on the vigil. This action is planned with consultation from a legal team in San Francisco - including Tony Serra.

Please come to the Wednesday night (Nov. 23) GA for all the details that will allow the movement to legally retake Oscar Grant Plaza, (complete with tents, kitchen, media center, garden, childcare, counseling, medics, etc etc.
