There was at least 700, and likely closer to 1000 people there (especially when you take into account that some people left early, or came late). The mass media (so far) is saying "hundreds", or "several hundred", or "over 500" -- but they're always low, so 700 to 1000 is probably a pretty good estimate!

The Amphitheatre in front of City Hall seats approx. 850 . So since it was almost full during the '' General Assembly ''and there were probably at least 150-200 standing or milling around the area i think that there were at least 1000 maybe 1200 during the first two hrs of the event .

I was there between 5 and 6 p.m.; I would agree with the above estimate of 1200
