No Arrests Yet at Occupation of San Jose City Hall Plaza

"I hope that they believe in our 1st amendment and have backed off from the previous decision [to make arrests], though we've yet to get any update", said one protester occupying the plaza in front of San Jose City Hall this afternoon.

There were no arrests last night despite warnings from the San Jose Police Dept. yesterday and earlier in the week. Four or five corporate media outlets were on hand to get footage of the arrests, but most took off by 12:30am. The word was that the police would arrive between 11pm and 11:30pm. During that time the demonstrators grew louder and stayed strong.
