East Bay | Education & Student Activism | Police State and PrisonsUC Berkeley Tolman Hall Protest: Student In Choke Hold
There was no warning the police were going to close in on the student protest. The police prevent people from exiting the main door, and create a panic situation when a student is grabbed by police and kept in a choke hold. A line of police from the back enters the crowd and begins to push at students who are merely watching their peer being physically abused for no reason.

Here is the video entering the hall. Passing the police to enter, there was no indication given that people were supposed to vacate, as the camera enters the building.
The only instruction given by police was "no bikes", said to the man with the bike. But nothing is said about people trespassing, or gathering illegally inside the hall. The cops stand silently to the side as they gather their numbers. No warnings are given before the push into the crowd. |
