San Francisco Comic Michael Meehan: “Hey Monster – Hands Off My City!”
Wacky San Francisco noir comedy premiers at the San Francisco Fringe Festival Sept 7,10,16,18.
SAN FRANCISCO __Do wacky and noir belong in the same sentence, let alone the same show?
Yes.
Beginning Sept. 7 at San Francisco’s Fringe Festival, comedian Michael Meehan battles monsters, meter maids and the mayor at the Exit Theater.
“Hey Monster – Hands Off My City” is a musical comedy noir production, by a San Francisco born and bred maestro with a buoyant and wry riff on the absurdities of life as we know it – set to the music composed and performed for the show by Mood Indigo, also known as Brian and Julie Novak.
“Hey Monster – Hands Off My City” is Michael Meehan’s entry into the SF Fringe Festival and will be 7 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 7; 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10; 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16; and 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 18.
Mike’s credits include Craig Ferguson, Last Comic Standing, and numerous other gigs. He appears regularly at the Punchline and is known to many locals for The Meehan Brothers, whose Catholic-Irish Sunset District-infused comedy transcends ethnic and geographic boundaries.
The Exit Theater is at 277 Taylor Street (at Eddy). Tickets are $10 at the door or $12.99 in advance.
Tickets online at http://www.sffringe.org/fringe11/11plays/meehan.html or call 415-673-3847.
This is the 20th year of the San Francisco Fringe Festival, Sept. 7 -18.
