Dr. Melanie Joy, author of "Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs,
and Wear Cows - An Introduction to Carnism"

Dr. Joy is a longtime activist for social and environmental justice and animal welfare, will present her book on how our diets evolved. Her book is endorsed by the Core Team of Unitarian Universalist Ethical Eating Initiative at the recent UU General Assembly. Her presentation has been acclaimed by international audiences whatever their dietary preferences.

Dr. Joy will focus on healthier diets based on more sustainable and humane agricultural practices, while preserving the earth and the oceans.
