Announcing Farm Summer School! 18 Reasons and Garden for the Environment are delighted to offer the opportunity to get your hands dirty during this ten session immersion class held from May through September. Farm Summer School is geared for adults and includes five lectures at 18 Reasons and five full farming days at the Bi-Rite Farm in Sonoma. The lectures will take you through the logistics and business of starting a rural or urban farm, and the farm sessions will put you on site digging, planting, weeding and harvesting. Simon Richards, Bi-Rite Market's farmer and head produce buyer, and GFE's Suzi Palladino will lead the Sonoma sessions and guest lecturers from awesome local farms will lead the urban component.

To qualify you must be able to attend all ten sessions. Sessions are the second Thursday of the month from 7-9PM (at 18 Reasons) and the second Saturday of the month from 8:30AM-3:30PM (in Sonoma). (Please note that July 7th is the first Thursday of that month)

18 Reasons will help organize carpooling logistics but will not offer transportation to Sonoma. Lectures and farming days include potluck dinners and lunches, which we will arrange with students. Class size limited to ten.
