GLBT History Museum Opens its doors

San Francisco has once again made history, by curating it in a new museum.

In January 2011 the first ever GLBT History museum has opened it's doors to the public in one of the
most queer friendly Castro neighborhood. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on January 13th, and
many famous people were there to see the museum open. The museum is located at 4127 18th street and
has one of the largest queer memorabilia collections in the United States. It has historical photographs,
documents, sound recordings, films and videos that promise to offer an “unexpected perspective into
the past.” The museum is sponsored by the Levi Straus, Harveys plus many others. It is open between
Wednesday and Saturday's from 11am to 7pm, and on Sundays between noon and 5pm. The 1st
Wednesday of the month is free. More information can be found at
