In the Final Stretch! Environmentalists in the Streets and On the Phones
Following successful rallies on Saturday October 30 at Chevron gas stations in the Bay Area, Sierra Club members went directly to bay area chapter offices to hit the phones. It's not too late to help get the word out. Tell everyone you know, No on 23, No on 26!

Proposition 23 -- Suspend Air Pollution Control Laws -- NO
Stop Texas oil companies' (including Valero's) scheme to repeal clean energy and air pollution standards. Protests have been held in front of Valero gas stations
Proposition 26 -- Two-thirds Vote Requirement for Fees -- NO
Proposition 26 is another attempt by the oil, alcohol and tobacco industries to shift the burden of paying for the pollution and public health impacts of their businesses. If passed, prop 26 would make it virtually impossible to make businesses pay for the costs they impose on taxpayers. CHEVRON IS THE LARGEST CONTRIBUTOR TO THIS PROPOSITION. On October 30 protests were held statewide at Chevron gas stations.
