Protest at Meg Whitman/Condi Rice Event
Photos from the event of September 21, 2010 in Burlingame. Whitman reportedly earned $350,000 at this fundraiser. Protesters against the war called out Condoleezza Rice as a war criminal, and the pro-labor crowd cursed Meg for many good reasons.
Voice at Work (AFL-CIO) and other unions were in front of the Hyatt Regency on Sept. 21. Nurses, teachers, heavy equipment operators, and healthcare workers, were among the crowd. A group called Billionaires for Wealthcare (some of their signs read "Oil Billionaires for Meg") created a bit of a ruckus when they were seen standing by a limo. Some of the protesters mistook them for genuine Republicans, until they saw their campy signs, including "Meg loves Polluters".
Billionaires for Wealthcare or Oil Billionaires for Meg. Whichever the name, they made their point
A lot of singing of songs we know well. We Shall Not Be Moved, union brothers and sisters!
Anti-war protesters shouted that Condi is a war criminal
