Pass ENDA
Many people in the queer community were arrested in San Francisco on Thursday September 9 2010 for blocking traffic at the corner of Market and Castro Streets.
Their message: Pass ENDA.
ENDA stands for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which if passed would protect lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people from discrimination in the workplace for civilian, non-religious companies with over 15 employees, as well as federal, state and local governments, unions and employment agencies.
Currently the bill is stuck in the House Labor and Education Committee.
