2nd Annual Ardenwood Shakespeare Festival & Ren Faire Returns To Ardenwood Historic Farms!

The 2nd Annual Ardenwood Shakespeare Festival and Renaissance Faire, will open September 11 and 12th, 2010, bringing live and entertaining re-creation of the Elizabethan era to the Bay Area. This themed event will feature a wealth of attractions befitting to the period. Art, amour & armor, with over 800 live actors and patrons garbed in historical costumes and fanciful fantasy to involve patrons in its Shakespearian storylines.

This year’s theme for the Festival will be Shakespeare’s Muse. Ardenwood Historic Farms will be transformed to a delightful Elizabethan town filled with the myriad characters and vignettes resembling those of Shakespeare’s plays we so dearly love. Their stories will make their way into his plays and into our hearts. And you will be there to witness it all.

Over 800 costumed entertainers and over 100 shopkeepers and artisans will add to the ambience of the Faire. The show features acappella singers, dancers, magic and acrobatic feats on four stages, blacksmiths, royalty, period archery and, of course, the grand joust. With impressive horsemanship and pomp, the Knights of the Realm will do battle with each other, on horseback and on the ground with swords and other period weapons.

Have shopping in mind? Ardenwood Shakespeare Festival is the place to be. With over 100 merchants selling a wide array of arts and craft including one of a kind jewelry items, woodcrafts, artwork, ceramics, clothing, hats, accessories and historic weapons, you’ll find something special for yourself too.

The Ardenwood Shakespeare Festival will be held September 11-12, 2010. Grounds will be open 10-6 on Saturday and 10-5 Sunday. Tickets are $18 for adults, $13 for seniors, military, and ages 13-17, and $8 for children 3-12.
