Is Randy Shaw, Executive Director Of the Tenderloin Housing Clinic Out Of Control?

by City Workers Unite
Workers are asking if Randy Shaw, Executive Director of the Tenderloin Housing Clinic Out Of Control? Shaw according to rank and file city workers is radically attacking SEIU Local 1021 without any fightback by the union. The union officials have allowed the retaliation and firing of SEIU 1021 THC shop steward Nathaniel Holmes and other workers without serious union opposition. Is this SF city boss out of control?

Shaw gets to do almost what he wants because -- member in so called position of authority do not care to put up a fight because we have lost many members that would fight back--- really our union here is a big joke. Tenderloin Housing Clinic union needs to find the way to represent our members and stop being flunkies for Shaw. Thanks to person that made this post and I hope that our union will empower its members to stop being walked over by these union busters.
To the best of my knowledge Nathaniel Holmes is not the only one that have experienced the unfair treatment by Randy and his flunkies. I could name at least 10 persons since December 2009. I have many years here and I noticed that we are not a solid group and Shaw takes advantage of that. Presently our so called leaders are persons that do not reflect the workers but Shaw's hand picks who dare not even disagree. So until the weather breaks --- he's in control here in the land of THC.

Until we at Tenderloin Housing Clinic come under the jurisdiction of civil service, Shaw will remain the Judge, Jury and Terminator. It's sad to see this Executive Director, who appears to be looking for fame or some kind special attention.

This man does not live in the TL nor does he seem to give a damn about the people here -- very arrogant . What's lacking in the TL is a community center where people can go to other than the Library and make our plans for what we think is best for the community. Shaw says that this museum will "attract baby boomers fans and particulary baby boomers Deadheads.. as well as those interested in the neighborhood rich vice history which includes gambling dens, speakeasies and pornographic movies houses. How quaint! Why do we continue to let this dimwitted person even work here. 3 million dollars for lipstick on a pig.

Well trained and educated Shop Stewards are needed at THC to represent the workers and enforce the contract. Most workers here are content to be working and we have no unity, because we have seen so many union workers fired and no one really fights.

He allows his employees to tamper and steal things from its tenants. Particularly at the AllStar Hotel, from where I USED to reside. His employees didn't notify myself, and other tenants of incoming checks. Had mine sitting in his vault for over a month, IN 2010. Only after raising hell to the feds the AllStar management allegedly made changes to how mail is delivered to its tenants.

I had to report them AGAIN, this time for failing to forward me my mail to my new address in Portland, OR. The feds seem reluctant and slow to investigate him. Its been two months, and they haven't sent me my mail. I thought it was a federal offense to withhold a party's mail? That constitutes mail theft.
