An opportunity to learn about Progressive Islam. Four featured speakers: Ani Zonneveld, Sam Aboelela, Dega Omar, Rashid Patch, Progressive Muslims are all over the world. At this event we will focus on the existence of Progressive Islam in America. Drawing from the rich resource of Islamic theology and tradition, the members of our panel are promoting and working for the implementation of progressive values, social justice, economic justice and environmental protection. At the heart of a progressive Islam is the simple yet radical idea: every human individual, female or male, Muslim or non-Muslim, rich or poor, northerner or southerner, has exactly the same intrinsic worth
Progressive Muslims have much in common with the values of the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists who welcome this opportunity to support our efforts and our movement.
