Join with Japanese Zengakuren students from who have been fighting privatization, repression and militarization. They are visiting the US to join in the March 4, 2010 day of action and strikes. Also US transport workers, US students and trade unionists and a Report & Video on the national struggle of the Turkish Tekel Workers
The global struggle against capitalism and the defense of the working class is escalating internationally. A delegation of Japanese student activists who are members of Zengakuren will report on the fight against privatization of the Japanese universities and the repression against workers and students fighting militarization as well as the fight to defend the 1047 JR railway workers who have been fighting for their jobs back and against privatization of the railways.
They will be joined by reports on the March 4th struggle in California by students and education workers and a report on the 10th Anniversary of the ILA Charleston Five Black longshoreman and the lessons for transportation workers today in the US and globally. Anthony Levieges, Local 10 Executive Board Member and member of the Transport Workers Solidarity Committee will also report on the Charleston meeting.
Also there will be a video of the national struggle to defend the Turkish Tekel Tobacco workers whose company was privatized and are on a hunger strike in Istanbul against the government demanding that the privatizations stop.
All these three struggles are part of the growing worldwide movement of workers and students to defend against the capitalist crisis.
