לתושבי תל אביב אין סיבה לחשוש, חיילים חמושים לא ימנעו את תנועתם ו"רחוב השוהדה" שלהם לא יהיה סגור למשך שנים. הגבלות התנועה הפלסטינית ברחוב השוהדה החלו לאחר הטבח שביצע גולדשטיין וממשיכות עד היום.
כמו מחסום זמני זה קיימים בגדה מאות מחסומים אלה שהם נשארים לתקופות ארוכות. לפעמים עשרות שנים. יחד עם החומה המעצרים והריסת הבתים מחסומים אלו הם צלע אחת ממערך האפרטהייד הישראלי. אותם תל אביבים שיתעכבו לזמן קצר בדרכם יכולים להשתמש בזמן לחשוב על המדיניות שבה יש להם חלק, יפתח רחוב השוהדה ! תשוחרר פלסטין ! This date marks 16 years since the Baruch Goldstein massacre in the West Bank city of Hebron and the first time that Shuhada Street was closed to Palestinians. The campaign is focusing on Shuhada Street in Hebron as a symbol of the issue of Israeli settlements, the policy of separation in Hebron and the entire West Bank, the lack of freedom of movement for Palestinians, and the occupation at large. Like this permanent blocked, there are hundreds of checkpoints that exists in the West Bank, sometimes for years. These checkpoints, are just another part of the Israeli apartheid system. Israelis, who are going to be delayed for a short while because of this roadblock, can use that time to reflect on the Israeli policy that they are part of. Open Shohada Street! Free Palestine!
