Novato residents will have two opportunities in the next two weeks to voice their opinions and hear details about proposed service cuts to help balance the city's $5 million budget deficit.

Public workshops are set up for 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Novato City Hall at 901 Sherman Ave., and 7-9 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Hamilton Community Center at 503 S. Palm Drive.

The proposed program and staffing cuts range from hours of operation at the Margaret Todd Senior Center to police officers to youth sports programs.

Considered for closure are six mini-parks in the Bahia neighborhood; Creekside Park, 163 Alameda del Prado; Wallace Park, Fairway Drive and Alameda de la Loma; Laurelwood Park, two sites on Laurelwood Drive; McClelland Park, Olive Avenue and McClelland Drive; Partridge Knolls Park, two sites on Partridge Drive; Knolltop Tot Lot, Robinhood Drive; Pansy Tong Tot Lot, 30 Samrose Drive; San Andreas, open space area at San Andreas Drive; and Slade Park, 593 Manuel Drive.
