Aren't you embarrssed to be promoting this agenda of the labor lieutenants of capitalism known as boycotts? Don't you know that the rich swine who patronize these hotels do not know anything about these boycotts and could care less? LABOR MUST GO ON STRIKE IF THIS BACKWARD, NON-INDUSTRIALIZED COUNTRY IS TO ADVANCE. Try reading Richard Mellor's account of this STAGED BOYCOTT AND STAGED ARRESTS:

AND AS TO THESE DEMOCRATIC PARTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS (10 OF THE 11 MEMBERS OF THE SF BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ARE DEMOCRATS, 1 IS GREEN), only 1 Green and 2 Democrats voted to stop the Navy's Blue Death from flying over San Francisco. Former Supervisor Aaron Peskin voted to support the Navy's Blue Death flying illegally low over heavily populated San Francisco, wasting tax dollars and oil, all to glorify war while making terrible noise. AND DURING THIS STAGED BOYCOTT PROTEST, A HELICOPTER FLEW OVER DOWNTOWN SAN FRANCISCO, WASTING OIL AND MAKING TERRIBLE NOISE probably for some bourgeois news station for the police patrol. This boycott instead of strike is insulting.

Much of what the previous poster wrote is true but there was some not so useful generalizations .
Boycotts usually don't win . On the rare occasions that they do it's often years , even a decade before any victories . I'm very much for a ''Old School'' strike where the strikers do everything possible and tactially wise to win . For example scabs and managers should be prevented from entering a struck Hotel . Cab drivers should be persuaded not to accept passengers going to and from such Hotels . Teamster UPS drivers shouldn't cross picketlines and mahe deliveries at Hotels etc.
But Boycotts do have some value in backing up direct Worker actions. It is useful, for example , If say a National Assocation of Mental heatlh Professionals cancels a convention at the St. Francis and thus costs the corporation maybe Hundreds of thousands of dollars in business.
Also while we of course shouldn't count on Non Convention Hotel guests to cancel in solidarity a few could be persuaded to do so. Many currently prosperous Middle Class professionals come from Union families and/or maybe held a union job themselves earlier in their work lives . They aren't all ''rich swine ''.
My two cents .
