Let us not forget that the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is defending world democratic laws involving saving the Oceans web of organic life, and stopping the illegal slaughter of endangered whales in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctury.
Lets look at the international laws that Capt. Watson and the SSCS are fighting to defend, 1) IWC-- Inernational Whaling Commission-- that since 1986 has put in place democratically a Moratorium against commercial whaling globally. Nobody believes the lie that the Japanese Industrial Whalers are setting killing quotas of over a thousand whales per year in a whale sanctury is merely doing research on Whales, 2) CITES-- the United Nations Resolutions on saving and protecting endangered species of sea mammals etc. Sea Shepherd being the NGO legally upholding these laws on the Oceans Organic web of life, 3) The Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary which is the cummulative democracy of the worlds peace and justice to provide the whales sanctuary after centuries of unmerciful killing of whales to the point of near extinction for many species, and actual extinction for some. This is merciful and just to allow the worlds whales to unite and struggle for a gainful return to normalcy at time for sentient intelligent beings to gain health as well-beingness, 4) The French and Austrialian EEZ, Economic Exclusion Zones where those countries forbid the Japanese whaling fleet to kill whales. There are numerous other legitimate organizations, and lawful politics, cultural, economic, and religios who are pursuing a just peace for the species in the Oceans' web of organic ecological balance to which Japanese Imperialism is attacking and destroying beyond natures ability to sustain organic life.

However, the Japanese failing Whale Industry has chosen to ignore all these various majority organications set on giving refuge and sanctuary for the sea mammals and inparticular the Whales habitating the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary and setting out to kill over a thousand endangered whales per season. They are the aggressive of war potential that their constitution swears not to maintain. When then will Japan live up to its constitution and quit subsidizing the Japanese Whaling Industry and forbidding the attacking of Sea Shepherd Conservation boats in the Worlds Sanctuary for Whales?

When will Japan quit the sensless slaughter of tens of thousands of porpoises every year at Taji to send the meat to the elementary school children to eat for free lunch. Those porpoises are toxic chemical poisoned by the Japanese Industrial revoluton that is motivated by coal, gas, oil, and atomic energy. The meat sickens and makes life shorter for the children of Japan ie makes death to them. It is thought world wide that poisoning children by feeding them with chemically poisoned meat is a war crime. Where is Article 9 of their constitution on that point?

It is not the fault of the children or the porpoises this terrible crime is happening. It is criminality of conscousness on the parts of authority figures in Japan. Sea Shepherd is but a whistleblower and fighter for conservation of natural life and in no way acting except as a law abiding society for the preservation of endangered species, both on land and in the worlds oceans so future generations will indeed have a future with the necessary continuing web of life. Sea Shepherd liberates while Japan Conquors and practices wrongheaded policies on the worlds Oceans.
