Not one person has been held accountable at BART for the murder of Oscar Grant. BART is letting Chief Gary Gee walk away without any accountability and now they are asking for public input on their pick for a new police chief. Here's BART's PR spin on public meeting:
BART hosts public forum to gather input on recruitment and selection of new Police Chief
BART’s Chief of Police is retiring on December 31 after 36 years of dedicated service (DEDICATED?!?). BART has launched a nationwide search to bring new leadership to its Police Department.
We are interested in your thoughts and opinions on:
1.) The issues, challenges and opportunities facing the new Chief
2.) The background, experience and characteristics the new Chief should possess.
You are invited to provide your input at a public forum on December 17 or on the BART website at http://www.bart.gov/policechief
The public forum will be held:
WHEN: Thursday, December 17 at 6 p.m.
WHERE: Joseph P. Bort MetroCenter Auditorium 101 - 8th Street in Oakland (across from the Lake Merritt BART Station)
