Obama-Stan? Obama-Nam?

Dear queers and allies,

in the 80s, Afghanistan became known as
"the Soviet Union's
VietNam".


Bush started the current Afghanistan war,
then he retreated to Iraq
(because Iraq has oil).


Now that Obama has belatedly turned our attention
back to Afghanistan,
in 2009,
the Taliban and Al Qaeda are entrenched
in safe refuges
( in Afghanistan AND in Pakistan).


While the blood of soldiers and civilians,
of many nations,
was being WASTED in Iraq,
Afghanistan didn't stay
frozen in time.
Though neglected;
it evolved (or devolved);
while most of us
almost forgot about it.


A regular army loses
when it doesn't win decisively.
Guerilla fighters win
when they merely survive.


What should Obama do now?
