Natural-born citizenship -- Reuters mis-reads U.S. law

by TBL
If your mother or father is a U.S. citizen
at the time of your birth,
then you're a natural-born citizen
[ because you received your citizenship at the moment of birth, naturally];
regardless of WHERE you're born.

Reuters should know this already.
................
Open letter to REUTERS:

Tim Gaynor, reporting for Reuters
[Phoenix, 19 Nov. 2009],
writes that Lou Dobbs has been
"seen as lending credence to the "birther" conspiracy theory,
whose adherents believe President Barack Obama's Hawaiian birth certificate
was faked to hide a Kenyan birthplace that would make the first black
U.S. president ineligible for his office."

Reuters overlooks a key fact about the U.S. Constitution, and U.S. law:
Even if Obama were born in Kenya (or anywhere else),
he would still be a natural-born U.S. citizen, because he received
U.S. citizenship AT THE MOMENT OF BIRTH -- from his mother.

We have had recent Presidential nominees
who were born outside the U.S.A.,
as natural-born citizens [because a parent (or two) was a U.S. citizen].
When partisan idiots objected, these candidates prevailed.

Don't take my word on this.
Ask the U.S. Attorney General,
and the U.S. Secretary of State.

For truth,
Tortuga Bi LIBERTY,
U.S. citizen
