BVHP PAC throws a curve ball and stuns Mayor's Office of Economic Develop and Workforce.
The Mayor's Office of Economic Development and Workforce had planned for a stunning victory at the Bayview Hunters Point Project Area Committee (BVHP PAC) meeting held November 16, 2009 at 1800 Oakdale at 6 pm. Lennar was on the agenda to get a sole source contract at Alice Griffith. What the Mayor's Office of Economic Development and Workforce received - was a STUNNING kick in the pants. For the first time in IONS - those decent members on the BVHP PAC - did the right thing.
LENNAR is a Rogue Developer that now has the audacity to move the Mayor's Office of Economic Development and Workforce to follow its dictates and create situations that are against the law and protocol.
This sole source gift that the Mayor's Office of Economic Development and Workforce wanted to handover to LENNAR - on a platter was shot down. What the community gave LENNAR for the first time in many years was a SLAP in the face and KICK in the pants.
Why would anyone in their right mind give LENNAR all the benefits to build a brand new DEVELOPMENT at Alice Griffith and the surrounding area, to build some 300 plus units - without any bids?
Why the sole bid favoring the Rogue Developer Lennar? Do we NOT have many other developers, in these dire times - that can do a better job? Lennar has a track record of building homes on toxic land and what is more inferior homes. Just google Lennar and inferior homes and find out for yourself?
Why would anyone in their right mind permit LENNAR to do this without a sound Environmental Impact Report or Study? Why would anyone permit LENNAR to do this without any meaningful dialog with the community that lives in Alice Griffith and those advocates in the know that fight for what is right?
When it came time to vote - those that asked the right questions to the representative of the Mayor's Office of Economic Development and Workforce - and got drab answers - vote against giving LENNAR - any sole source rights.
The Alice Griffith residents were happy - no more LIES. The Alice Griffith Residents live on Federal Property and as such can sue Lennar and the SF Housing Authority for doing a lousy job. Also those on the side lines like HOPE SF - for trying to deceive and cheat the residents of Alice Griffith. You all are put on notice.
LENNAR for example could not state to the Public at Large how much the total units would cost?
LENNAR would not answer a simple question if it had a Disposition and Development type agreement with time lines. Once you do not meet the time lines - you are in default. What would happen to LENNAR - if it did not meet the time lines?
The stumbling, mumbling White woman on the podium, a STOOGE for the Mayor's Office of Economic Development made a FOOL of herself. We must stop permitting outsides to come into our community - strange look ones - ones that have no family values - and tell us the community, what is good for us.
Shame on Angelo King the BVHP PAC, Chair and Cedric Jackson sitting next to him - who were among the SELL OUTS that voted for LENNAR but lost the vote because those voting against LENNAR were in the majority.
Cedric Jackson who has a dubious past that I wish not to reveal but can at any given moment - is a sell out. For him to say that those of us who have been in the front line fighting all sorts of injustices including shooting and killings that took one of Cedric Jackson's son recently - for him to say that we are confronting LENNAR just for the say of confronting LENNAR is a crying shame.
The U.S. Navy want to CAP the land - complete with radiological waste and more. The City of San Francisco is looking for early transfer - land that has not been cleaned. Lennar is a rogue developer that is lining the pockets Cedric Jackson and others - we all know that. The man must shut his filthy mouth knowing well that what he utters has been heard and can be produced in the court of law - if necessary. He made a fool of himself and was reminded by Espanola Jackson.
Cedric Jackson is on the take and has been on the take for a long, long time. Such a weasel is NOT respected in the community. If he wants to bring it on - he can bring it on. The same holds good for Angelo King, Linda Richardson, and the others all FOOLS, on the Project Area Committee that went against the wishes of the community.
LENNAR can promise the residents of Alice Griffith paradise but what is the Housing Authority doing for them right now? Sixty percent of Alice Griffith residents have already left - because they have been targeted by the SF Housing Authority.
Most of the residents today do not live as decent human beings - because the SF Housing Authority working with Mayor Gavin Newsom, the Mayor Office of Economic Development and Workforce - are not reparing their units - and letting the unit go down and in disrepair - making the innocent, mostly poor people - suffer.
Kitchens do not work, plumbing is not repaired, toilets spill over, and roofs leak and more. Workers who have worked for the SF Housing Authority for years have been fired. The SF Housing Authority has a plan to quickly wipe out the community that lives at Alice Griffith - while the Mayor's Office of Economic Development and Workforce - and folks like Tiffany Bodee and Rhonda Simmons tout - that they are bringing HOPE to the residents of Alice Griffith.
This time around the resident came to the meeting - some 30 strong and one of spokesperson spoke up and spoke the truth. She told everyone that no one had consulted the residents of Alice Griffith. Plans are being made behind their backs and behind close doors. These plans they know - the spokesperson for Alice Griffith residents said - are plans not meant for them but for some one else.
The words shocked the audience because no one expected the residents to garner up courage and speak up. Most of them had supported Proposition G but as time passed - the residents were left to fend for themselves - while crooks beholden to Senator Diane Feinstein, Congressperson Nancy Pelosi, Mayor Gavin Newsom, the many sell outs one of which - was there, touting the same old garbage - Aurelious Walker talking about jobs and people getting housing - LIES, LIES, and more LIES.
I challenge the folks that promise to help the residents of Alice Griffith in the future to visit their homes today and help them now. By the time the homes are built five years down the line, if ever - which none will be built - each and every resident of Alice Griffith- will be no more.
Lennar has chosen to fight the wrong people and Stop Lennar Action Movement was present. I led the charge asking first for a Environmental Impact Report and then the proposed project that is like a moving target be built and modeled on the EIR.
Proposition G did not have many of the elements incorporated in the Proposition that the crooks want to implement now. If these FOOLS do not understand simple language and logic - we WILL take them to court. Just like we have before and WON.
I have read the Draft, Environmental Impact Report linked to Candlestick Point and other parts of the Shipyard - it is a joke. Parcels B, C, D, E, E2, G, UC, F and the other carved parcels still come under the jurisdiction of the United States Navy.
The U.S. Navy is MANDATED to do the clean up. Proposition passed by over 87% of San Franciscans mandates the entire Hunters Point Shipyard be cleaned to Residential Standards. What is it that Cedric Jackson does not understand? I have never, ever heard him speak clearly on Cumulative pollution?
I have heard him speak about jobs and money - both of which he cannot deliver. He does line his pockets - making promises to the crooks such as LENNAR but working against the community.
The same can be said of Linda Richardson who was talking from both sides of her mouth - this is not Nigeria. Angelo King was Chair and conducted the meeting - in a manner that is disgraceful. The sound system was poor and folks were talking loud while some deliberations that should have been heard - could NOT be heard.
The room was packed by some Labor folks that were shocked to see and hear that the vote did not favor their God - Lennar.
One woman belonging to the Labor Union spoke against LENNAR - pointing out that she was for the community but did not appreciated working or having anything to do with a rogue developer - like LENNAR. Well spoken young woman.
This victory is just the TIP of the ICEBERG.
LENNAR will never ever be able to convince the Bayview Community that it will do right by the community - never, ever.
At Mare Island, LENNAR promised to build 10,000 homes and after 10 years had nothing to show and left Mare Island without any mitigation and abatement - and what is most disgraceful declared - bankruptcy.
If San Francisco does not stay away from this VAMPIRE as Brother Leon stated at the PAC meeting - he, voting against giving LENNAR sole source opportunities. San Francisco and San Francisco will suffer. LENNAR is the devil that should drown in its own cesspool.
The community of Bayview Hunters Point knows better. No more rubber stamping - this is the first of many kicks in the pants that the SELL OUTS - will get as the time goes by.
Kudos to those BVHP PAC members for first asking the brilliant questions. Secondly voting your conscience. Third standing up with the suffering Alice Griffith residents and the general populace of Bayview Hunters Point.
