So where does that leave us if a bad pandemic strikes? Shannon Brownlee is the author of the bestselling book "Overtreated: Why Too Much Medicine is Making Us Sicker and Poorer."

Shannon Brownlee, award-winning medical journalist and senior research fellow at the New America Foundation focusing.
