US plane with militants onboard forced down in India
A US plane with 205 Marines aboard, ostensibly on its way to Thailand, was forced to land in India on Sunday, when it flew over Indian air space.
The plane originated from the Middle East. But the commandos aboard obviously were destined for Afghanistan and/or Pakistan(perhaps even inside Iran?) This embarassing incident also raises the question whether it's a case of air piracy, since they are armed militants sent into a war zone that is the site of an illegal war of aggression/occupation. The sovereign government of India--if it truly adheres to international law--should detain the plane and its armed occupants until an independent & objective investigation is completed. This is definitely not a case of "free and innocent passage" over international air space. Stay tuned for more developments.
