Days of Action Against Police Brutality! Oct. 22nd & 23rd

by redwoodcurtaincopwatch

eventstart:
Thu, 10/22/2009 - 12:00pm - Fri, 10/23/2009 - 9:00pm

Organize and participate with Redwood Curtain CopWatch in the Days of Action Against Police Brutality. On Thursday, October 22nd, people all over the U.S. will be gathering in strength on what will be the 14th recognized National Day of Action Against Police Brutality, Repression, and the Criminalization of a Generation!
Here, behind the Redwood Curtain, we recognize both October 22nd and 23rd as Days of Action Against Police Brutality, remembering and resisting for our young brother, CHRISTOPHER BURGESS, who was fatally shot on October 23rd, 2006 at the age of 16 by a Eureka Police officer.

We will never forget you, Christopher!!

Please help us MOBILIZE for the 2009
DAYS OF ACTION AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY

We are mobilizing for two continuous days of action remembering those who have lost their lives to police, fighting against an intentional politics of cruelty, and building community that recognizes everyone's dignity. We need your input and energy!!

Days of Action, October 22nd and 23rd, will involve guerilla theater, marches, a memorial bike ride, speak-outs, film screenings, a vigil, and the basics- sharing food, rage, tears, ideas, and strength -together. See Schedule Below or click HERE to download

No More Stolen Lives!!

The Days of Action are powerful times for going up against police repression, because it brings
together those of us directly under the gun of police violence with sections of society who are not under the gun. It challenges the "divide and conquer" lies and cover-ups that keep us apart, bringing people of different backgrounds to stand together to expose and oppose these
outrages. Across the country, in many cities and through various means of expression, we raise a resounding "NO" to these to these police raids, government attacks on youth and immigrants, and destroying of lives in the 'name of the law'.

COMBAT POLICE TERRORISM. SEE IT. SAY IT. STOP IT!

Police brutality is WAR AGAINST THE PEOPLE.
