The Obama Administration is in the process of creating a national ocean policy. The newly formed Oceans Policy Task Force is responsible for developing that policy, with public input. The task force convened in San Francisco to take west coast comments on what a national oceans policy should include. Environmental groups gathered to oppose offshore oil drilling and the US Navy's plans to conduct weapons and warfare training in Northern California waters.
