PRESS RELEASE

Sacramento, CA - September 9, 2009 – The California Attorney General has released the official title, summary, and legislative analysis for the ballot measure proposed by the California Cannabis Initiative (CaliforniaCannabisInitiative.org).

The LEGALIZE, REGULATE, AND TAX MARIJUANA INITIATIVE will save “several tens of millions of dollars annually to state and local governments ” while potentially creating “major new excise, income, and sales tax revenues” for California.

This law would mandate that all taxes and revenues must “be spent on education, healthcare, environmental programs, public works, and state parks.”

If passed, this law would repeal “state laws that make it a crime for people 21 years old or older to use, possess, sell, cultivate, or transport marijuana or industrial hemp, except laws that make it a crime to drive while impaired or to contribute to the delinquency of a Minor”.

The Legalize, Regulate, and Tax Marijuana Initiative is now circulating the petition and has until February 5, 2010 to collect 433,971 signatures in order to qualify for the November 2, 2010 general election.

fuck taxing weed. y'all are crazy. the weed economy is one of the only lessaiz-faire economic systems still around, and you assholes want to fuck it up. you really want to be able to go to a liquor store and buy a pack of phillip morris brand joints, and then pay 10% of that price to the fucking government? Fuck that.

I smoke weed every day, and I hope this measure fails.
