Health, Housing, and Public ServicesLeft v. Right at Town Hall on Health Care Reform: Palo Alto
Anna Eshoo (D) held a Town Hall Forum on Health Care on September 2. Right wingers inside booed when the congresswoman called for a moment of silence for Teddy Kennedy, but they were outnumbered in a big way at a rally outside the auditorium in Palo Alto. Photos show the mix of signs and some conversations too. Most were civil. The Raging Grannies only had to take out their "anger management" kit at the very end when one right winger went over the top with his frustration and started yelling. A car with a license plate holder promoting violence came under police scrutiny. Overall police presence was lighter than at an event the previous week in Menlo Park.
Stood alone until joined by some flag waving "patriots"
Police made note of its presence
a few Flag waving "patriots" in the rear. There were about a handful of them, whereas the overwhelming number of people in line carried signs supporting healthcare reform.
..debating with woman on the right.
OFF not "of"
Obama offers crumbs....sad but true!
A woman with a sticker that says: "Our community supports health care reform!" was overcome with appreciation for the Grannies, and stepped out of her place in the long line to give a hug.
Guy in Green tells the anti Obama sign carrier where he is wrong about all this. Go Green!
Granny Gail said: only had to bring it out once
Overwhelmingly, the placards and signs carried as people stood in line were for Obama, health care reform, and SINGLE PAYER
