"The Sound of Moolah": A musical melodrama puppet show for adults about healthcare reform comes to Bay Area on Saturday August 8 in San Francisco and on Sunday August 9 in Berkeley. Performed by a group of health workers from Humboldt County who call themselves "The Single Payer Players", it's a fun way to learn what all citizens should know about health reform. The puppet show's script and lyrics were written by the medical director of he Mobile Medical Clinic in Northern Humboldt, Dr. Wendy Ring, who also built the puppets! Saturday's San Francisco performance is at Centro del Pueblo, 474 Valencia, 7:30 pm, where a suggested donation of from $5 to $20 will be requested at the door; and it's sponsored by Single Payer Now, http://www.singlepayernow.net. Sunday's Berkeley performance is at La Pena, 3105 Shattuck Ave, 6pm, with a sliding scale of $5 to $10; and it's sponsored by the California Physicians Alliance, http://www.capa.pnhp.org. For more information call 415-810-5826 or email dbechler [at] earthlink.net.
