Oakland Housing Authority (OHA) Affordable Housing Wait List Opens -- The available notice does not confirm whether the OHA wait list is for Section 8 or public housing.


Waiting List Opens at Oakland Housing Authority from July 27, 2009 - July 31, 2009.

Applications may be filled out on-line; http://www.oakha.org

No hard copy applications will be accepted, at this time.

Applications can only be submitted in english.

Wait List Available Through
Oakland Housing Authority
For Low Income Housing

The Oakland Housing Authority (OHA) will be opening its wait list from July 27, 2009 through July 31, 2009 using a fully web-based application process.

The web-based application process is designed to be user friendly for the new and limited skilled internet user. Applications can be accessed, completed, and submitted on-line by logging onto the Authority's web site at http://www.oakha.org.

Once on the website home page, applicants can access the application module by opening the link 2009 public housing wait list application.

No hard copy (paper) applications will be received during this process.

The Oakland Housing Authority will advertise the recruitment in the news print media and on media websites such as the Oakland Tribune, the Singtao Daily, El Mensajero Weekly, Vietnamese Daily News, The Post, the Globe, the East Bay Express, and the Sunday Morning News.

Users of "211" will be notified through July 31, 2009.

The Oakland Housing Authority will host computer kiosks at the West District Union Street office and the East District Lockwood offices.

OHA staff will be available to assist applicants at each site from 8:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Oakland Housing Authority staff will be on site at 15 Oakland Public Library branch locations to assist applicants during those branch business hours.

Persons with limited English skills will have access to telephone translation assistance.

Applications can only be submitted in English, but the simple application form is available in English and Spanish for submission, and for reference purposes only in PDF in Mandarin, Vietnamese and Khmer.
