Homeless service providers and advocates Paul Lee (author of The Quality of Mercy) and Paul Brindel (25-year worker with The Shelter Project) provided declarations to the court supporting the utter inadequacy of shelter space in Santa Cruz, which Judge Burdick ignored.

These declarations will hopefully be placed soon.

Anna Richardson reported that the two received "camping citations" within the last few days for sleeping during the day time (not a violation of the camping law) by police intent on harassing them and driving them away, or perhaps, still woefully ignorant of the law.
