1126 WOOD ST OAKLAND, CA 94607 - BUYER BEWARE !!! DO NOT BUY THIS HOUSE!!!!

by VBNA
"Buyer Beware. Do not buy this house! What the Agent Dorcia Anderson who works for Broker Hal Hutchens is not telling you is that this house is occupied by a long time West Oakland family who is preparing to put an offer in on the house so that they can continue living in their home. They had been renting from the previous owner before it went back to the bank, but they have maintained possession and now seek to purchase the home they have been living in for themselves. Don't take on an unnecessary headache, or inherit negative karma by bidding on this home. Be a good citizen and let this family live in peace. thanks. "

I hope they're successful in keeping it. Just looked up the house on Redfin. It looks nicely kept, and houses in east Oakland (also often very nicely kept) and parts of west Oakland really went through a bubble. Prices were often up to $400,000 in neighborhoods that had been very working class. A historical tour of that area shows many victorians built when it was a fancy african american area. But now so many are on the market, that hopefully there won't be that many speculators.

I am looking for a place to live - a home - but am happy for exactly this kind of information - people should be able to buy the homes they live in if possible!
