San Francisco | Labor & WorkersA Crime to Wear Lingerie?
It soon could be a crime for massage parlor employees to wear lingerie while on the job.
In San Francisco Supervisor Carmen Chu and Mayor Gavin Newsom have proposed and submitted legislation that would make it a misdemeanor for massage parlor employees to wear revealing clothing while they are working. Also massage parlor business owners could be jailed, fined or both for employing under-age masseuse’s.
According to Chronicle Staff Writer Robert Selna http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/03/31/BA6J16PKL8.DTL San Francisco is a sex-trafficking hub, and Mayor Newsom and Supervisor Chu believe prostitution lurks in health clubs, massage parlors and even private homes and they hope that legislation would eliminate or get rid of those activities. The proposed legislation has many more variable to it, but the bottom line is that Sex Workers who pay taxes are being jailed, fined or charged with crimes at an alarming rate. And believe it or not they are considered self-employed and pay taxes just like mainstream workers. Please watch the video.

I don't think that it is a matter of injustice to pass a bill that would make it a crime for someone to employ someone who is a minor as a sex worker! CHILDREN NEED TO BE PROTECTED FROM PROSTITUTION AND SEX-TRAFFICKING!
