Friends and supporters of 82 year old Harry Young of Owensboro, Kentucky have set up a legal defense fund to help Mr. Young with his civil case. He continues legal means to obtain title to his land through the courts.

After spending several wretched days in jail, Harry Young, an 82 year old black farmer who lost his land in an allegedly illegal foreclosure, now has more to worry about. The government has charged Young in connection with alleged phone threats made to an employee of the United States Department of Agriculture.

Supporters around the nation are outraged at this latest atrocity, which follows a long line of terroristic actions AGAINST Mr. Young. For several years he has been the target of threatening phone calls, vandalism to his property and fields, and worries about more gunshots being fired at his house.

Farm activists and supporters question the timing of the arrest, given Young's upcoming meeting with senior members of the Obama Administration. They also question whether the alleged threats even ocurred, given Mr. Young's 2 year campaign of letter writing and self-advocacy.

Young has spent thousands of dollars sending letters and faxes to Congress and government officials. He has also given hundreds of interviews to print and broadcast media. A filmmaker produced a documentary on the Young case, which can be viewed at: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=5A9BB57EC59086A2&search_query=Harry+Young
