Urban Hunter Gatherers... We are a community of people with firm commitments to implementing the practices and lifeways of our ancestors. The hunter-gatherers of the world's history have a complex and intimate relationship with their environments. They understand the resources that are available to them. City dwellers are not exempted solely due to their environment. In truth, nature and natural laws extend to the skyscrapers and sewers, petroleum based beauty products and the billboards that advertise them. It is human hubris to think that we have, or are capable of separating ourselves from nature and natural law.
This is an attempt to remember, and refashion a lifeway that coalesces these "disparate" cultures–the false dialectic–human (and by extension cities) verses nature.
Topics include: DIY (do it yourself) culture, community development and alternative forms of communication, foraging, primitivist philosophies, dumpster diving, squatting/finding shelter, roadkill, freeganism and "really really free markets," skills sharing and more.
