Alleged bomber added to FBI terror list is Berkeley resident

A Berkeley computer worker, 31, is first domestic terror suspect ever on the FBI list.
(04-21) 08:16 PDT SAN FRANCISCO --

A man being sought by the FBI in connection with the planting of bombs at two Bay Area companies in 2003 has become the first accused domestic terrorist to be added to the agency's list of "Most Wanted" terror suspects, authorities said today.

Daniel Andreas San Diego, 31, of Sonoma County is on the list because his actions "have set an example to other extremists in the animal rights movement," the FBI said in a statement. The "Most Wanted Terrorists" list is distinct from the much longer-running "Ten Most Wanted" list.

San Diego allegedly detonated two pipe bombs at Chiron Corp., a biotechnology firm in Emeryville, on Aug. 28, 2003. No one was hurt in the predawn explosions.
