5 Days Until We Spring Into Action!

by IMPACT! (impactpetaluma [at] gmail.com)
On April 1st, radical young activists in the North Bay will begin a month-long campaign to build their movement, strengthen their projects for immigrants' and workers' rights, and work on cultivating a consciousness of participation and resistance in the Sonoma County community. We are inviting all of our comrades and supporters from around the Bay to help us out on this exciting new campaign of grassroots organizing, whether by attending events, coming with us on CopWatch patrols or Food Not Bombs servings, or going door to door talking to our neighbors about immigrants' rights and police brutality.
5 Days Until We Spring Into Action!

...And We need You!

April is almost upon us, which means we are just about to embark on our first "Spring Into Action! Campaign, where we hit the streets of our community to organize for justice, talk to our neighbors, and bring people together to make change on a local level. We have a ton of activities scheduled for the month and we would love some more volunteers, or at least some help spreading the word and getting lots of folks to participate with us! This is a great opportunity to build your leadership skills, get to know your community, and work for social justice in your own town. Here is a list of regular activities for the month that you are encouraged to join up with!

-Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays- Canvass (go door-to-door) with a petition for immigrants' rights, or a survey about peoples' experiences with police for our CopWatch program. This happens in the afternoon, around 4 or 5 pm (we can work around your schedule).

-Tuesdays @ 6pm- IMPACT! Dinner and Meeting- Open to All! Come eat some delicious home-made food and help us plan future actions for social justice in Petaluma.

-Fridays @ 8pm- CopWatch patrol- come observe the cops with us in our weekly patrols. we have shifts from 8pm-10pm and from 10-midnight. Also, if the patrol isn't your thing, help us pass out information and talk to young people downtown to inform them of their civil rights with the police

-Saturdays @ 11am- Food Not Bombs servings- Howard and Washington St. Free food. Cooking starts at 9 am. Call Kelsey if you'd like to volunteer- 364-1326
