East Bay | Police State and PrisonsNo Justice No BART announces series of BART shutdowns
On February 26th, the day before what would have been Oscar Grant's 23rd birthday, No Justice No BART held a press conference at Fruitvale BART to announce a series of BART shutdowns to be staged if BART does not meet its demands for justice. The first BART shutdown will occur on Thursday, March 5th, 2009 at Fruitvale BART during the evening rush hour. After the press conference, participants placed flowers in a chalk outline on the platform at the spot where Oscar Grant was shot in the back by BART officer Mehserle on January 1st.
From No Justice No BART's press release:
No Justice No BART has setup a website at nojusticenobart.blogspot.com where future actions will be announced.

Hey folks, we need to put pressure on the Bart thugs in every way we can. I recommend calling the chamber of commerace for every town that connects to bart and explain that you are not bringing your family to town on or off the bart because of the police violence shown by the indiescriminate murder of Oscar Grant.
I also recommend that anyone wanting to break windows do it at the bart offices and not local business who had zero to do with the incident. Also too, I would like to point out that the violence shown by the bart/oakland police is not just a local issue but one that is national and the reason why they all are getting more violent is because they are taught (and realize) the gestopo won. The nazi led corporate elite are alive and well in our country and I recommend everyone catch up to speed on post wwii history. The super rich ( those causing our economic crisis are the very same who supportted the nazis before the war, many of them supportted the nazis during the war- it would be very inconsistant for them not to support the nazis after the war- they did, they are ugly and they are incontrol. look at Dave Emory's site spifirelist.com for historic info all the best, Paul Morningstar |
