Greetings!

IMPACT! is excited to announce the next monthly gathering of Sonoma County community organizations and activists this Sunday, March 1st at Noon. The meeting will be held at the Peace and Justice Center in Santa Rosa. (467 Sebastopol Ave.). Last month, approximately 40 people, representing about 27 different organizations, met to hear about each other's projects and discussed ideas for collaboration between movements and causes, such as the Spring Into Action! campaign (a month of actions and events from April 1st to May 1st). This time, we want to focus the meeting on more discussions aimed at building solidarity between our organizations and creating a unified movement for social justice here in Sonoma County. How can we bridge the gap between our causes? How can we create lasting and sustainable movements locally? What actions can we take in the future to strengten our movement and build solidarity?

The proposed agenda looks something like this: 1.) Introductions (no more than one minute per person). 2.) Upcoming actions/events in March, 3.) Spring Into Action! Campaign (groups that are interested in participating in this should come ready with ideas!), 4.) Brainstorm for the future of this network- What options are there for continuing and expanding these monthly gatherings?

Please spread the word and bring as many people as you can! In these dire economic times, we need a strong, unified social movement that can counter the corruption, robbery, and death that the current system is throwing at us. The government likes to bail out the rich; we need to bail out each other. But we can only do it if we are together. We hope to see all of you on Sunday and at all future gatherings!

This meeting should last no more than 2 hours.

In Solidarity,
Carl, IMPACT!

P.S. Other awesome things going on in Santa Rosa on Sunday:
1.) "Rediscovering Cooperatives"- part of Go Local's effort to "Reclaim Local Economic Power." There will be discussion and information about cooperatively-run enterprises, locally and abroad. There will also be a local organic cheese and wine reception. It costs $20. It will be held at the Glaser Center (547 Mendocino Ave.) in Santa Rosa from 3pm-6pm.

2.) Meeting of the October 22nd Coalition- Campaign to Ban Tasers. 5pm, Free Mind Media (546 Pacific Ave., Santa Rosa). Please join us to discuss our ongoing effort to ban Tasers. We have recently organized a successful march, collected nearly 600 petitions, and had a meeting with the Sheriff to discuss our concerns. But these are only the first steps. Join us on Sunday if you want to volunteer on this urgent campaign.
