Reading and discussion of new radical feminist memoir **Arm the Spirit - A Woman's Journey Underground and Back** by Diana Block. The book tells the story of author's life underground in the eighties and nineties as part of a group supportive of the Puerto Rican and Black liberation movements. The story is told from a feminist perspective with a particular emphasis on her experiences as a mother of two children. The book is particularly relevant to Bay Area readers because it covers a lot of radical history of the region that hasn't before been told.
