Write Your State Senator or Representative and Urge Support for Marijuana Law Reform

Dear Friend,

Earlier this year NORML proclaimed, "Change is sweeping the nation; are you a part of it?" Today we are urging you to visit NORML's Legislative Action Alert page and find out.

Marijuana law reform bills are now pending in nearly two dozen states.

For instance, legislators in Connecticut, Montana, Vermont, and Washington are considering proposals to reclassify marijuana possession from a criminal offense (punishable by arrest and jail) to a civil violation punishable by a fine of no more than $100.

Several other states -- including Minnesota, New Jersey, and New Hampshire are contemplating measures to legalize the medical use of cannabis. And in Rhode Island, 50 of the state's 75 state representatives have signed on to legislation to establish state-licensed "Compassion Centers" to grow and distribute medical cannabis to qualified patients.

There is no doubt: the times they are a changin'. Are you a part of this change?

I can also inform you at this time that not one but two states will soon be debating LEGALIZATION bills. Stay tuned to NORML for details!

NORML has made it easy and convenient for you to amend the laws in your state. NORML's Legislative Action Alert page has up-to-date information on marijuana law reform proposals, upcoming legislative hearings, and scheduled votes. With a few quick clicks of a mouse, you can also contact your state elected officials and urge them to vote 'yes' for saner pot policies.

Are you aware of the changes taking place in your state? It's never been easier to stay informed. One: listen to NORML's Daily Audio Stash and click on NORML's blog for daily updates on pending reform measures that will affect you. Two: click on NORML's Legislative Action Alert page to learn where and when votes are taking place in your state.

Have you written your state senator or representative and urged their support for marijuana law reform? Now is the time to do so, and we've already done all the work for you. Click here: http://capwiz.com/norml2/issues/ to be a part of the changing that is sweeping the nation.

Together, we are making a difference.

Lastly, the technology and human resources NORML employs to track state and federal legislation, along with the mass communication tools to lobby elected policy makers are only made possible by the support of members and supporters like you.

By every measure, this is the busiest period ever for the cannabis law reform movement as evidenced by the numerous proposals at the state level to reform cannabis laws.

Please make a donation today to NORML in support of the organization’s 38-year old lobbying efforts on behalf of cannabis consumers, medical patients and hemp advocates.

Thanks again for getting cannabis law reform this far—despite a federal government and mainstream media that still largely 'don't get it'!
