Time:
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Event Type:
Vigil/Ritual
Organizer/Author:

Location Details:

City sidewalk in front of the Oakland Federal Building.
On the third Tuesday of each month, participants lie from noon to one o’clock on the city sidewalk in front of the Oakland Federal Building. They are covered with white sheets. Two tombstones give the numbers of the Iraqi dead and the “Coalition” and U.S. dead. For the hour of the action, the names of the dead are read. Groups of Iraqi names and of names of California military dead are read. After each name a gong is sounded.

Bring a pad to lie on and a white sheet to cover yourself with.
This is street theater, not Civil Disobedience.
