Open forum with the participation of maquila workers from Baja California and Tamaulipas, the National Confederation of Workers (CGT from the Spanish State), workers from Solano (Argentina) and workers from the Middle East (Iran), as well as those workers who wish to participate and who let us know in advance.
Moderator: Multidisciplinary Analysis Centre (CAM, UNAM, Mexico).

1700 hrs. The Other Paths: ANOTHER CITY. Open forum with the participation of the National Union of Popular Organizations from the Independent Left (UNOPII Mexico), the Workers and Socialist Unity (UNÍOS Mexico), young people from anarchist, punk, and libertarian collectives (Mexico). Street Brigade (Brigada Callejera Mexico), as well as those who struggle in the cities who wish to participate and who let us know in advance.

En CACITA (Centro Autonomo para la Cracion Intercultural de Technologias Aproriadas). pensamos que la technologia ese patron logico y social de empleo de tecnicas debe ser definido por el cuerpo social. por la gente que la emplea en su vida coidiana. Cuando las technologias son apropriadas, aplican los saberes en sus contextos naturales, sociales y politicos. Se trata de emplearlas para fortalecer nuestras capacidades autonomas, no para explotar a otros o para crearnos dependencias. Son technologias apropriadas en el doble sentido: nos las apropriamos, son propias por nuestra capacidad de adaptarias a nuestros contextos y requerimientos, son nuestras en sus concepciones y aplicaciones; y son apropriadas a nuestras condiciones, a los contextos en que las empleamos. Este tipo de tecnologias tienden a difundirse por si solas. No hay necesidad de promoverlaspor medios publicitarios convencionales. CACITA es un centro de aprendizaje libre. Por medio de talleres, cursos o intercambios capacitamos a jovenes y adultos a aprender a reproducir las tecnicas que conocemos. Nos interesa seguir aprendiendo, y por eso mantenemos el espacio abierto para que otros ofrezcan talleres, cursos o intercambios y asi nutramos nuestros esfuerzos. CACITA es un proyecto politico. Promovemos el uso de las tecnologias apropriadas porque creemos que no basta con generar simples alternatives al regimen technologico imperante para lograr una transformacion. Notamos con frecuencia que se les llama "alternativas" a las formas alternas de mantener el estado do las cosas. Creemos que es importante aprender, implementar, reproducir, inovar e intercambiar las tecnicas y technologias que sea ecologicamente sensatas, pero tambien socialmente justas, culturalmente apropriables, economicamente accesibles y, en la medida do lo posible, tecnicamente reproducibles.
