Shoes thrown at Bush effigy in front or White House

by WSQT Direct Action radio 88.1 FM in DC (WSQTradio [at] hushmail.com)
On December 17, members of Code Pink threw shoes at a protester wearing a paper mache George W Bush head and prison stripes, to demand the release of Muntazer al-Zaidi(who threw his shoes at Bush) and an end to the war.

This followed the display of empty shoes symbolizing the familes Bush's war has killed in Iraq. While this protest took place at the White House, reports emerged from Iraq that al_Zaida had been seriously injured by Secret Service and Iraq security goons. Of course, protesters in Iraq have been demanding his release all week, progressing as far as to wave shoes and throw stones at US troops!
