UC Berkeley police conduct "Security Sweep" in Oakland
Could the UCPD again be planning another botched off-campus raid?
According to the UCPD crime bulletins (http://police.berkeley.edu/bulletins), UCPD Warrant Detective Bruce Bauer conducted a security sweep at the Marriott Hotel at 1001 Broadway ST in Downtown Oakland on December 7 at 2:36 PM. This is highly suspcious as this is not campus property or even in the city of Berkeley.

Reading the rest of the bulletins makes this more clear to me, as almost all of the entries are "crimes" such as illegal lodging (being homeless and sleeping), campus curfew violations, littering, and other nuisance crimes.
Just look at the violence they unleashed on the tree-sit, and the more recent repression leveled at those opposing their torture of animals.
