Causeway planned over toxic landfill land - no consideration about Cumulative Pollution.
San Francisco, Brisbane, Daly City, South San Francisco, Burlingame - and the other neighboring areas - have been debating for years about traffic congestion on Highway 101 South. Starting from Bayshore by Silver Avenue all the way to the San Francisco - Airport. The so-called transportation experts - pay no attention to landfills, cumulative pollution, and very dangerous - particulates from the plying of millions of vehicles. Add to that the methane gas and other very toxic elements from the landfill and polluted Bay waters.
At a recent San Francisco Planning Commission - the Commissioners heard some one talk about a Causeway and other proposed traffic changes.
A Causeway is planned from South San Francisco, through Brisbane, cutting across the rail-road by 501 Tunnel Avenue, by Candlestick Park, over toxic Yosemite Slough, by Parcel E2 at Hunters Point - joining Cargo Way and then connecting traffic on Third Street and near by exits.
The plan has no thorough Environmental Impact Report. Of course it has a biased Draft Transportation Document - that pays no attention to landfill, Cumulative Pollution, dangerous particulates, liquefaction, and most importantly there has been - ZERO dialog with the community.
Brisbane would like the Caltrans Hub at 501 Tunnel play an important role. With shuttle buses and other transportation vehicles helping commuters - get to better paying jobs further south - where the so called experts tout there are better paying jobs.
San Francisco wants to develop the Caltran Station closer to the old Macy's Ware House - where it spent some $100,000 - on consultants with some changes at a Caltran Stop by the 1800 Oakdale by the Southeast Commission Building. The San Francisco County Transportation Authority has been wasting money on consultants - with little or no meaningful dialog - from the community.
These hub is touted as a possible hub to take 49er fans to the proposed stadium on Parcel G - that will be built in the middle of Chernobyl. Help commuters from the proposed over 20,000 units that will be built.
No dialog about the Fire Department, other Safety Departments, no link to the City and County Master Plan and or course no mention of a sound Housing Element. The last one was defective and was taken to court.
There is no mention of Energy Uses, Garbage Collection, Clean Water Use, Schools, Hospitals, Churches - Quality of Life Issues.
No study of the changing demographics - Latinos, Asians, Polynesians - others.
Lennar a Rogue Company that has adversely impacted thousands of innocent people - failed to provide a sound Transportation Document - linked to Parcel A - affecting Bayview Hunters Point.
So, some property owners from near by Innez Street sued Lennar and got some resolution. Few people know this - important facts are kept under the rug. The SF Chronicle , the SF Business Times, other drab so called Main Newspapers - will write about crap - without any thorough investigative reporting.
Local so Byview Hunters Point and Visitation Leaders have no clue about the Housing Element, less about the Master Plan affecting the City and County of San Francisco, have never read a Transportation Document, do not know what is entailed in a Environmental Impact Report, and mention other pertinent elements linked to the California Environmental Quality Act - and they will gape at you - as if some lighting bolt struck them.
Thousands of units are planned without any meaningful dialog with the community.
he decent Whites and Black, the Polynesians that are many, the Native American, the Asians, the rapidly growing Latino population - that go about doing their own thing - have no clue - about the Rogue Developers that will destroy the present - Quality of Life they now - enjoy.
Mostly affected will be Little Hollywood that in recent years has been invaded by the Asians.

In a way the current economy which will take at least three years to rebound and another two to revive so that we can really play ball and participate with the world economies - will SLOW down the development that these Rogue Developers had in mind.
Imagine over 8000 units in the Sunnydale Area. The Public Housing there will be no more. Most people will be kicked out. Much as they were when the Geneva Towers were torn down.
The SF Hope and Hope SF are the same snake with a different head.
With Mayor Gavin Newsom at the fore front - all any one can expect is to be royally shafted. The moron has no morals - and is a scumbag of the first order.
To understand this jackass you must witness the idiots that he has appointed to the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency Commission (SFRA) - each of them rubber stamp projects - days in advance what the Mayor and his cronies ask him to.
Add to the 8000 units at Sunnydale another 2000 by the Schalage Lock Company - with little attention paid to Cumulative Pollution and or course traffic.
The present Latino, Asian, and the older White and Black populations in this area will be told to pack off - much as you see the gentrification in the Bayview Hunters Point.
Add to that the Gang Injunctions, Police Harassment, lack of attention to the Infrastructure, poor service by the SF City Departments linked to clean water, sewage, and other necessary services and you see the writing on the wall.
Thousands of poor Latinos bought homes - they got caught in the sub-prime loan ploys. Many of them - have no help - and others because they cannot speak English are taken for a ride by the City and County of San Francisco and mostly the Law Enforcement that should help them.
Latinos living in the Portola Area are old home owners and they cannot understand what is happening.
Well, the Latinos everywhere from the Mission, Portola, Bernal Heights, Visitation Valley, Bayview Hunters Point - must unite. Join the STOP LENNAR ACTION MOVEMENT - and see how much - you can empower - yourselves.
The Labor Council, ACORN which has been in the news, the San Francisco Organizing Project, other sell outs have joined Lenanr. Well, I have news for you - go to Vallejo and ask them what has Lennar done foe them lately. After 10 years of promises - Lennar declared bankruptcy.
Today Lennar is drowning in a cesspool - its Stock and Shares rated as Junk. I repeat JUNK.
There is much more madness to these machinations. The students from City College and State University understand some. The other Universities are caught up with their own demons - and care not to venture to address - the pertinent issues affecting the community.
College and University students must learn to apply what they learn in the Institutions of Learning to the neighborhood, the county, the city - and make a difference.
We cannot have change unless we know. And after we know we must have a plan. But, nothing will happen if we are not united to execute the plan of action.

The City and County of San Francisco is ready to take over 1000 acres of land - and give it to a Rogue Company Lennar and other dubious Rogue Developers. Lennar will put some little poor infrastructure and sell the plots. Much like the Catellus Corporation did at Mission Bay. This is called Land Banking. We having been talking about it for years. We know their - ploys.
Mission Bay is a landfill and very toxic. Read the main lease agreements to any building or unit at Mission Bay and you will be in for a shock.
The land linked to the Causeway is real landfill - not many years ago you could see the garbage on the surface. The stench and the scavenger birds that fed on the remains. This landfill separated and created a divide with the San Bruno Mountains.
The San Bruno Moutains the largest intact Shellmound. What a paradox!
