As the march passed in front of Watsonville's new City Hall, a lot of honks and screams of support from folks who are (perhaps) unaccustomed to such sights... part of what made today so amazing was the simple fact that this doesn't happen every day here. As organizers Maria Perez and Olga Fuentes said last week, the goal wasn't to put on the event, but rather to gain visibility for the GLBT community in Watsonville. Today's march demonstrated strong support for the queer community.
Cuando la march pasó por el centro municipál de la ciudad, había muchos gritos de la gente pasando, tal vez quienes no estan acustombrado ver la calle así. No es algo común en Watsonville. As the march returned to the Plaza, Maria and Olga embraced with hundreds lined up behind them, ready to encircle the plaza and begin the festivities.
