Cal & SF Ballot Props; KPFA Cancels Evening Programs for 2 drinking parties 8/25-28, 9/1-4

by &
As announced on KPFA’s website and at 7 p.m. on 8/18/08 on KPFA, 94.1 FM, Flashpoints, the 6 p.m. Evening News and all other programs for which the subscribers pay until 9 p.m. from 8/25-28 and 9/1-4 will be canceled in favor of the 2 drinking parties of the twin parties of capitalism, the Democrats and Republicans, and their warmongering, death penalty millionaire candidates. While that outrage takes place, you can look to the workingclass peace, anti-death penalty parties’ websites and the many propositions on the November 4 ballot.

After all, the entire capitalist communications industry will be saturated with these advertising spectacles, worthy of Nuremberg rallies that Hitler used to build support for his anti-workingclass, pro-death penalty war machine to maximize the profits of the capitalist class, the same goals of the twin parties of capitalism, the Democrat-Republicans.

KPFA’s kick in the teeth to most of the subscribers who will never vote for these two despicable parties, but will certainly vote either Peace & Freedom or Green, may be found at: http://www.kpfa.org/

As we can see, KPFA is still a Democratic Party mouthpiece, with that notorious Democrat, Larry Bensky, hosting this theft of our subscription money for his favorite drinking parties. September 1, the day the Republicans start their drinking party, is Labor Day. We can only wonder when or even if there will be any labor programming on KPFA at times that we are all likely to listen (not the graveyard shift, for instance).

Peace & Freedom Party’s website is: http://www.peaceandfreedom.org/home/
The Green Party’s website is: http://www.sfgreenparty.org/

P&F”s candidate for president, Ralph Nader and the Green Party’s candidate for president, Cynthia McKinney are the only two viable presidential candidates on the ballot. Both are for peace, for labor and opposed to the death penalty.
Both Peace & Freedom Party and the Green Party support the Palestinian Liberation Struggle, unlike the Demo-Repubs, which are staunchly pro-Israel at all levels of office, Israel being a US military base to protect US oil profits in the Middle East.
Both P&F and the Greens are staunchly pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, for single payer healthcare paid for with our tax dollars guaranteeing all medical and dental care to all who live here from cradle to grave free of charge and oppose all insurance companies, all unlike the Democrat-Republicans.

Ralph Nader’s website has a good breakdown on some of the many positions that the Democrat-Republicans oppose. See http://www.votenader.org/issues/ and they are listed here:
1. Adopt single payer national health insurance
2.Cut the huge, bloated, wasteful military budget
3.No to nuclear power, solar energy first
4.Aggressive crackdown on corporate crime and corporate welfare
5.Open the presidential debates
6.Adopt a carbon pollution tax
7.Reverse US policy on the Middle East
8.Impeach Bush/Cheney
9.Repeal the Taft-Hartley anti-union law
10. Adopt a Wall Street securities speculation tax
11.Put an end to ballot access obstructionism
12.Work to end corporate personhood

ALSO, CINDY SHEEHAN IS RUNNING FOR CONGRESS on a peace platform against warmonger, anti-impeachment, millionaire Democrat Nancy Pelosi in San Francisco’s 8th Congressional District, which is all of San Francisco except the Sunset District. For more on this campaign, please see http://www.cindyforcongress.org/

Many seats in the San Francisco Board of Supervisors are contested. No Democrat or Republican is worthy of your consideration. For the others who are running, ask them the litmus test question: Do you support Fleet Week and the Navy’s Blue Death flights over San Francisco? If they say No, then and only then, should you consider voting for that candidate. For more information, see http://www.blueangels.org/SF.htm

YOU CAN REGISTER TO VOTE IN CALIFORNIA FOR THIS ELECTION UNTIL OCTOBER 20. See http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_vr.htm for more information and a voter registration form. Also see the League of Women Voters of California website at http://ca.lwv.org/lwvc/edfund/voterreg/index.html The County Registrars of Voters for all 58 California counties are listed at http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_d.htm
After you register, be sure to ask for a permanent absentee ballot request form so that you can vote in the comfort of your home at a time best for you and do not have to worry about voting on a Tuesday. You can also register at your County Registrar’s office and complete the absentee ballot request form Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

MANY IMPORTANT PROPOSITIONS DESERVE YOUR ATTENTION.

As a rule of thumb, it is best to vote No on all bonds as it puts us in debt, causing us to pay more than the original cost, and if the project is worthwhile, the money should come from the general fund, which source is the progressive income tax, known as tax the rich, whose taxes should be raised if they make over $200,000 a year. So far, the infamous Feinstein-Schwarzenegger water bond is not listed, but that is certainly one that deserves your No vote. The other bonds that deserve your No vote are Props 1, 3, 10 and 12.

The other propositions that deserve your No vote are:
Proposition 4: Anti-Abortion Initiative Constitutional Amendment 1287. Again, the anti-abortion crowd wants to promote teenage pregnancy, as exists in the backward countries of the world, with their contrived parental notification. While this has been defeated in the past, we now have a US Supreme Court that is 5 to 4 anti-abortion (Chief Justice Roberts, Justices Alito, Kennedy, Scalia Thomas are anti-abortion; Justices Breyer, Ginsburg, Souter, Stevens are pro-abortion) and has criminalized late term abortions, including criminal penalties for doctors who perform them, we cannot afford to assume that this will be defeated; there will have to an active campaign on the part of all pro-abortion candidates to defeat this latest attack on women.
The No on Proposition 4 campaign may be found at http://www.canow.org/canoworg/2008/07/protect-teen-sa.html

Proposition 6: Prison-Police State Promotion Initiative Statute 1326 (“the Runner Initiative”). This latest idiocy proposed by George C. Runner, Jr., a Republican state senator representing parts of Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties, and others, increases penalties for crimes, including drug crimes, instead of legalizing drugs thereby getting them off the street as there would be no market for them; eliminates bail for some prisoners, all of which will increase the cost of prisons in a state that has no money for education, health care or social services. There is no money for this insanity, and hopefully with a large workingclass voter turnout in this election, Proposition 6 can be defeated. The No on Proposition 6 campaign may be found at: http://www.votenoprop6.com/?p=home

Proposition 8:Anti-Gay Marriage Constitutional Amendment 1298. While the California Supreme Court has legalized gay marriage, we still have an equally divided electorate as religious superstition is prevalent in this backward society, so a serious campaign to push young voters to the polls will have to be made by the supporters of gay marriage to defeat this stupidity. The No on Proposition 8 campaign may be found at http://equalityforall.articulatedman.com/home

Proposition 9: . Second Police State Constitutional Amendment 1325. This money-making for the prison industry initiative claims to fight crime with the contrived victim notification and limits parole. People who actually committed the crime of which they are accused should be put in a rehabilitation program to train them for decent paying jobs and given full and free healthcare and education, so that they are ready to go to work within 5 years or less. This means we must support the ABOLITION of prisons and the death penalty, and promote free education and health care, paid for with our tax dollars, with taxing of the rich with the progressive income tax, those who make over $200,000 a year, to fund the programs we need. The opponents of Propositions 6 and 9 have formed a group called Communities for Safe Neighborhoods and Fiscal Responsibility. For now, check the No on 6 website for the status of these 2 campaigns at: http://www.votenoprop6.com/?p=home
