2 US Soldiers Killed;
Al-Sadr Calls for Rejection of SOFA

Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr again called on PM Nuri al-Maliki to decline to sign a Status of Forces Agreement with the US Pentagon. He pledged the support of the Sadr Movement to al-Maliki if he complied with the request.

Antiwar.com says,"Thursday: 2 US Soldiers, 20 Iraqis Killed; 21 Iraqis Wounded".

McClatchy rounds up political violence in Iraq on Thursday:

' Baghdad

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Karrada injuring two civilians.

A roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi Army patrol near the general hospital in Madain to the southeast of Baghdad city injuring two soldiers.

Three unidentified bodies were found in Baghdad by Iraqi Police today; one in Palestine Street, one in Bayaa and one in Bab al-Muatham.

Nineveh

A suicide car bomb targeted al-Sheheed Police Station in al-Gayarah district to the south of Mosul before noon Thursday. The explosion killed three policemen and injured four.

Two parked car bombs targeted an Iraqi Army patrol in the village of Kook Jely to the north east of Mosul injuring nine people including three soldiers.

Three female bodies were found in different neighbourhoods in Mosul city by local police.'
